Eric Freedman Eric Freedman is an associate professor in the School of Journalism and a winner of the Pulitzer Prize for reporting. He is a former Fulbright senior scholar in Uzbekistan and has conducted training workshops for professional journalists in Central Asia sponsored by the State Department, Internews, Freedom House, and other organizations. Freedman's research interests include press rights and journalistic practices in Central Asia and media coverage of international environmental issues. His ISP responsibilities include helping to develop a Global and Area Studies major; working with the area studies and thematic centers, the Office of Study Abroad, and the MSU Dubai, and participating in grant applications and research and education initiatives. |

Dawn Pysarchik Dr. Dawn I. Pysarchik regularly works with academic and support units at MSU. As the oversight administrator of the internationally-recognized Japan Center for Michigan Universities (JCMU) in Hikone, Japan, she collaborates with the 15 public Michigan universities, the Presidents Council- State Universities of Michigan and partner universities in Japan. Dr. Pysarchik has a keen interest in the development and impact assessment of campus internationalization, and serves on a campus-wide committee to internationalize students' curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular experiences at MSU. Dr. Pysarchik serves in leadership positions on the Michigan-Shiga (Japan) Sister-State and Sister-City Boards and assists a variety of organizations to expand their international community outreach. |

Richard Cole Richard Cole is Professor and Immediate Past Chairperson of the Department of Advertising, Public Relations and Retailing at MSU. He teaches graduate-level Public Relations courses. As Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of the Detroit Medical Center, Cole directed major corporate staff functions including human resources, public and media relations, marketing and advertising, development and philanthropy, international services and state and federal government relations. |

Manuel Chavez Dr. Manuel Chavez is the MSU Associate Director of the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies. He also teaches courses on the press, society and government in Latin America, and on the sociology of journalism. He also teaches qualitative research methods in the J-School graduate program. For the last four years, his research focuses on community-participatory models in editorial decision-making in newspapers and its impacts on news and the community. |
