Dr. MacDowell is a Curator of Folk Arts at the Michigan State University Museum as well as a Professor in the Department of Art and Art History where her primary responsibility is in the Museum Studies Program. Some of her research interests include documentation, description, and analysis of quiltmaking traditions; Folk arts and folklife in education, and museums and technology.
