The External Advisory Council or Outreach Council is a team of no more than ten “friends of the center” who are well positioned to enrich the Canadian Studies Center relationships with off-campus influencers. These influencers or stakeholders have the center’s need for helpful connections, faculty and student opportunities, and funding considerations first in mind. All are grounded in off-campus organizations. Some are MSU alumni and others have a cross border interest regarding policy or business practices. Others are focused on research collaboration and network building.
External Advisory Council members come together twice a year. Once in an actual face-to-face social gathering with the Faculty Advisory Council and secondly in a business-type setting focused on an update of the center and next steps they might assist on behalf of the center.
