Canada is arguably one of the most important geographic, political, and economic partners to the United States. The Canadian Studies Center connects the MSU community with Canadian organizations, working together to address global challenges through collaborative education, outreach, and research. The Center develops strategic partnerships with Canadian organizations—cultivating relationships with Canadian faculty, scholars and experts; facilitating student opportunities in Canada; and engaging with Canada in MSU classrooms.
Your support for the Canadian Studies Center will strengthen the longstanding scholarly relationships between MSU and Canadian faculty and help facilitate new research opportunities in Canada, the United States, and around the world. With your help, we can also empower a new generation of students to explore and understand Canada through enriching experiences, including education abroad, study away, and internship and fellowship opportunities.
The Canada Connect fund advances scholarship and research between MSU and Canadian faculty working to address global challenges by supporting MSU faculty travel to Canada, Canadian faculty travel to MSU, and joint manuscript costs. Faculty recipients and scholarly products funded will be showcased on the Center website and social media.
The Oh Canada! Go Canada! fund helps connect MSU students to Canada through education abroad, study away, internships and fellowships in Canada. Student recipients will become Canadian Studies Center Student Ambassadors and will be showcased on the Center website and social media.
The Canadian Studies Center Endowment is used to pay for general operational expenses of the center over time. Contributions to the endowment build over time. If you wish to make a gift directed to a specific area or cause, please contact the Center director, Dr. Rebecca Malouin.
