Dr. Brent Lyons received his M.A. in Psychology from the MSU College of Social Science in 2010, and his Ph.D. (also from MSU) in 2013. The decision to attend MSU was an easy one, which Lyons based on the reputation of the Organizational Psychology PhD program and the quality of the faculty which he would get to work with as a student in the program. His fondest memories at MSU include befriending fellow graduate students and connecting with several faculty member who have been instrumental to his career. Getting to explore the beautiful state of Michigan, and its array of craft beers was also a plus.
Currently, Dr. Lyons serves as an Assistant Professor of Management and Organization Studies in the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University, which is located in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. His research interests pertain to diversity, stigmatization, and negative personal relations in organizations. He aims to understand how employment opportunities and work experiences can be fair and inclusive.
