Most people believe that education abroad is expensive, time-consuming, and requires being extroverted to collaborate with others. However, that is not the case. With MSU’s new implementation of block-tuition, I didn't even have to pay extra for the academic curriculum associated with the study abroad program. The program’s fee was very affordable and even included two sizable stipends for personal needs or wants. The program I enrolled in was fortunate enough to include airfare and transportation in their fees which lifted a huge weight off of my shoulder. Although my flight was included in program, the Education Abroad office offers assistance with travel arrangements, costs, and purchasing for programs that don’t include. However, by the end of the program, I gained 30+ new friends and companions due to our similar interests in traveling and bonding throughout trip.
