The Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College is a premier cultural facility in northern Michigan offering a dynamic array of exhibitions and programs in the visual arts, sciences, and performing arts.The Museum's signature collection is Inuit art of the Canadian Arctic, one of the largest and most historically complete collections of distinctive sculptures and prints in the United States.
Responsibilities
Conduct Inuit collection research and update database records accordingly
Inventory and photograph Inuit holdings for database and website use
Work closely with the Registrar to process incoming gifts of Inuit art and backlog
Refine database search terms, records, and metadata for Inuit holdings
Assist with object rehousing and catalog numbering as needed
Assist with Inuit exhibition installation and de-installation
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of successful undergraduate study
Prior experience working with exhibitions and/or museum collections
Museum database experience (PastPerfect or similar)
Familiarity with digital cameras and basic image editing techniques
Art history, anthropology, Indigenous studies, museum studies, or related field of study

Internship dates are flexible (mid-May through early August). On-campus housing is available for students who apply by April 1. The intern will receive a stipend of $500 from the Canadian Studies Center to help offset costs associated with housing and other needs.
The successful candidate is strongly encouraged to apply for additional scholarships provided by the College of Arts and Letters or the College of Social Science.
